Here are the results of the NHCCD Engineering Challenge last week. Approximately 400 students took part in this first time challenge which required participation in 3 of the 6 engineering stations. High scorers of the day won PLTW earbuds and the raffle winners won a $25 gift card each. Each school has been notified and prizes will be sent this week! Thanks to all who participated in the challenge!
NH Construction Career Days wishes to thank key sponsors and organizer of this Challenge, Mary Laturnau of Project Lead the Way and Michelle Marshall of NHDOT, as well as a special appreciation to NH Driving Toward Zero, CLD Consulting Engineers, McFarland Johnson, and GM2 Associates.
Both the NH Land Surveyors Association and Sugar River Valley Regional Technical Center sent in thank you letters to our organization this week. We truly appreciate the support and are thrilled to be receiving such positive feedback already about last weeks event! We plan to send out surveys to all participants in the next few weeks to help us gather more feedback. Please feel free to read the letters below:
Thanks to EVERYONE who made this event possible! Sponsors, Exhibitors, VOLUNTEERS, Equipment Operators, Event Coordinators, Students, Teachers, Chaperones and of course the Hillsborough County 4H Staff/Board for all being so supportive and making this year a HUGE success! Whether you donated time, money, blood, sweat or tears.....we couldn't have done it without all of you!
Shout out to Willard Dodge, Rick and his wife for being so readily available/helpful during our event and of course leading up to it. Also to Dick Peruse of the New Boston Highway Department for allowing the majority of your crew (if not all) to be volunteer operators and the numerous pieces of equipment that were used for student demos! We hope to be able to come back next year and do it all over again! Also special shout out to one of our Platinum Sponsors John & Denise Neville for all their support this year from recruiting exhibitors, getting sponsors, finding equipment (and hauling it there), in-kind donations, storing our hardhats and of course doing it all with a smile. It means a lot to us to have that kind of support from wonderful companies like yours! THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE !!!! HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR!!! It was a busy afternoon today at the fairgrounds. We had the help of over 150 municipal employees (who were attending a separate Plow Rally event) in assembling 1,500 hard hats. We completed all the layout and got all 1,500 NHCCD backpacks filled with 2 snacks and safety glasses. Several exhibitors arrived today to do setup and multiple pieces of small and large heavy equipment were delivered. We are very excited about DAY 1 of our event and can't wait to see everyone. Thanks to everyone who is helping to make this event happen and to all the participating schools! See you tomorrow!
A huge thank you to Jennifer LeBlanc and her team at Granite State Plumbing and Heating for not only participating in this years event but for their platinum sponsorship of NH Construction Career Days this year! Our non-profit event depends on the generosity of companies like theirs.
