Eversource Energy will be attending NH Construction Career Days this year and bringing a line truck to the event while discussing careers at this electrical utility company.
NH Construction Career Days, Inc. is excited to share that WMUR will be on site Thursday September 22nd to film for NH Chronicle! Thank you to NHDOT for connecting us with the NH Chronicle team! This event has grown so much since 2009 because of our sponsors, exhibitors, equipment donators, volunteers and municipal operators. The enthusiasm from all who participate is contagious and I know you are all ready to show WMUR and the 1,600 NH students that registered why working in the construction and transportation industry is an awesome career path and why this event continues to make a difference! Big thanks to the 50 high schools that signed up students. We look forward to seeing you all next week!
We are in need of PROFESSIONAL OPERATORS to help students demo the heavy equipment so they can truly have a “hands-on” experience at this event. If you are or have an operator who would be willing to spend either Thursday Sept 22nd or Friday Sept 23rd at NHCCD (or both days!) please fill out the online volunteer form HERE (scroll down for correct VOLUNTEER FORM) or email Meghan Theriault.
Pieces of equipment still needing operators:
- Skid Steer Loader
- Man Lift & Harnesses
- Crawler Dozer
- Mini Excavator
- 1 or 2 general operators willing to float and cover any pieces to allow other operators a break.
We are also looking for GENERAL VOLUNTEERS to help with a variety of tasks, so please use the same volunteer form (CLICK HERE) if you are able to participate with general volunteer tasks. Hope to see you there. Thanks and have a great rest of your week!!
Who's going to be at this year's NH Construction Career Days? Want to see the list of equipment you'll be able to use? Click any of the links below for updated lists of exhibitors, equipment, and schools.
And of course don't forget to check out our list of SPONSORS
who also make this event possible!
NHDOT will have another one of their divisions here this year - Human Resources and will be doing a "Seek and Find" Challenge where you can learn about all the careers at NHDOT. Please be sure to stop by and see them in the big barn where the Engineering Challenges are as well!
NH Public Works Association came through for NHCCD again as a Platinum sponsor! We so appreciate the support from our sponsors and could not have this event without you! Thanks for caring about the future of NH's Youth!
We are excited to say that Manchester Highway Department is joining us this year with a Loader and operator for equipment demos! This brings us up to 26 piece of heavy equipment and most all (24) being active for demos!
School registrations closed earlier this week when we maxed out at nearly 1,700 students registered for the 2016 NHCCD Event. Typically schools register higher numbers than they actually bring, but even taking that into account, it looks like we might break another record this year!
The last four (4) lucky schools to make the cut were:
Spaulding High - RW Creteau Technology Center from Rochester NH
NH-JAG West Location from Manchester NH
Winnisquam Regional High School from Tilton NH
J. Olivia Huot Technical Center from Laconia NH
